Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Algo Trading Global Map web application (the "Service") operated by Torchinsky Executive Consulting ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), you ("User", "you") agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any provision of these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Service.

For paid subscription users, your agreement to these Terms is a condition of your subscription and constitutes a binding contract. You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

The Service provides an interactive directory and analytical platform covering the algorithmic and quantitative trading industry. Content includes firm profiles, estimated compensation ranges, office location data, hiring trend indicators, and career-matching features. The Service is offered exclusively for general informational and educational purposes.

The Service does not:

• Provide financial, investment, securities, or trading advice of any kind
• Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of any data
• Establish an employment, agency, or advisory relationship between the Company and the User
• Guarantee employment outcomes or salary levels for any individual

All data provided through the Service is aggregated from publicly available sources, community contributions, third-party databases, and internal estimates.

We expressly disclaim any representation or warranty, express or implied, as to:

• The accuracy, completeness, or currency of compensation data, AUM figures, headcount numbers, or hiring statistics
• The correctness of firm descriptions, tier classifications, or strategy labels
• The validity of career page links or contact information for third-party firms
• The reliability of Glassdoor ratings, which are sourced from third parties and may not reflect current conditions

Compensation ranges displayed are estimates based on aggregated public data and may not reflect actual salaries offered by any specific firm. Users should independently verify all information before making any employment or career decisions.

4.1 Independent Publication. AlgoTradingMap is an independent career research and market intelligence platform. Firm profiles, tier classifications, office location data, hiring indicators, and other information published on the Service are compiled independently by Torchinsky Executive Consulting from publicly available sources. The inclusion of any firm on the Service does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, partnership, or any commercial relationship between Torchinsky Executive Consulting and the listed firm, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

4.2 Factual Information. Firm profiles contain factual information compiled from public filings, regulatory disclosures, official company websites, press releases, news reports, and other publicly accessible sources. Under applicable law, factual information about corporate entities is not subject to copyright or privacy restrictions. The compilation, selection, arrangement, and presentation of such data constitutes an original work of authorship by Torchinsky Executive Consulting.

4.3 Third-Party Trademarks. Company names, logos, and trademarks displayed on the Service are the property of their respective owners. Their use on the Service is strictly for identification and informational purposes only (nominative fair use) and does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation. If you are a trademark owner and believe that the use of your mark on the Service exceeds fair use, please contact us at mike@torchinsky.net.

4.4 Compensation Data Disclaimer. Compensation ranges, salary estimates, bonus data, and total compensation figures displayed on the Service are derived from a combination of: (a) anonymous, community-sourced submissions; (b) aggregated public market data; and (c) estimates based on recruiter market intelligence. These figures are approximations only and have not been verified by, provided by, or endorsed by any listed firm. Actual compensation at any firm may differ materially from the estimates displayed. The Service makes no representation that any individual will receive compensation within the displayed ranges.

4.5 Firm Profile Corrections. Representatives of listed firms may request corrections to factual inaccuracies in their firm profile by contacting us at mike@torchinsky.net. We will review and address legitimate correction requests in a timely manner. However, requests to remove a firm profile entirely, or to suppress accurate factual information, will generally not be accommodated, consistent with the Service's role as an independent research and information platform.

4.6 News and Intelligence Content. The "Industry Intel\" section and weekly digest emails contain summaries and analysis of publicly available news reports. These summaries are original editorial content created by or on behalf of Torchinsky Executive Consulting. Source articles are attributed where available. The Service does not reproduce full articles or substantial portions of third-party content. Commentary labeled "Recruiter's Take" or similar reflects the professional opinion of Torchinsky Executive Consulting based on industry experience and does not constitute verified fact.

Nothing on the Service constitutes, or should be construed as, financial, investment, tax, legal, or professional advice. Information about firms' assets under management, strategies, or performance is provided solely for general awareness and market context. The Company is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner.

You should not make any financial or investment decisions based on information obtained from the Service. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making investment decisions.

Access to certain features of the Service requires a paid subscription ("Premium Access"). By purchasing Premium Access, you agree to the following:

• Payment: Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. All prices are listed in USD.
• No guarantee of outcomes: Payment for Premium Access does not guarantee employment, interviews, compensation improvements, or any specific career outcome.
• Data limitations: The Company makes no warranty that the data accessible via Premium Access is error-free or more accurate than freely available data. Premium Access provides greater depth and convenience, not verified accuracy.
• Refunds: Due to the digital and immediately accessible nature of the Service, subscription fees are non-refundable once access has been granted, unless required by law in your jurisdiction. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer protection law, contact us at mike@torchinsky.net within 14 days of purchase.

Certain features require account registration. You represent that all information provided during registration is accurate and current. You are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account at mike@torchinsky.net

Account sharing is prohibited. Each subscription is valid for one individual user only.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service without our prior written consent
• Reproduce, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit any content from the Service without authorization
• Share, sublicense, or transfer your account or Premium Access to any third party
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information through any forms or features
• Use data from the Service to build a competing product or service

Violation of these provisions may result in immediate termination of your account without refund and may expose you to legal liability.

9.1 Ownership. All content, data, database compilations, software, source code, design, graphics, user interface elements, visual assets, text, firm profiles, compensation estimates, analytical frameworks, and other materials available through or constituting the Service (collectively, "Service Content") are the exclusive property of Torchinsky Executive Consulting or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, database rights, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws in all applicable jurisdictions.

9.2 Trademark. "AlgoTradingMap™" is an unregistered trademark of Torchinsky Executive Consulting. All rights in the AlgoTradingMap™ name, logo, and brand identity are expressly reserved. You may not use the AlgoTradingMap™ name, logo, or any confusingly similar designation in any manner without the prior written consent of Torchinsky Executive Consulting, including but not limited to:

• Using the mark in connection with any product, service, or business
• Registering any domain name, social media handle, or company name that incorporates the mark
• Using the mark in advertising, marketing, or promotional materials
• Creating any derivative brand or logo based on the AlgoTradingMap™ identity

9.3 Copyright. The Service Content is protected by copyright. The database compilation of firm data, compensation benchmarks, office location data, and firm classifications constitutes an original work of authorship and/or a protected database. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, republication, uploading, posting, transmitting, encoding, or distributing any part of the Service Content in any medium or by any means is strictly prohibited and may result in civil and/or criminal liability.

9.4 Limited License. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for your own personal, non-commercial career research purposes. This license does not include any right to:

• Copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from Service Content
• Distribute, publicly display, or publicly perform Service Content
• Use Service Content for any commercial purpose or for the benefit of any third party
• Scrape, extract, or systematically download Service Content by automated or manual means
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any component of the Service
• Use Service Content to train, fine-tune, or develop any machine learning or AI model
• Build, operate, or contribute data to any competing product or directory service

9.5 User-Submitted Content. By submitting salary data, resume content, or any other information through the Service, you grant Torchinsky Executive Consulting a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, store, process, aggregate, anonymize, and display such content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

9.6 Infringement Claims. If you believe that any content on the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at mike@torchinsky.net with a detailed description of the alleged infringement. We will investigate and respond to valid notices in a timely manner.

9.7 Enforcement. Any unauthorized use of Service Content or the AlgoTradingMap™ trademark may result in immediate legal action, including injunctive relief, damages, and recovery of legal costs. Torchinsky Executive Consulting actively monitors and enforces its intellectual property rights.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) any defects will be corrected; (c) the data is accurate, complete, reliable, or current; or (d) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Torchinsky Executive Consulting, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill
• Damages arising from reliance on inaccurate or incomplete data
• Damages arising from any employment or career decision made based on the Service
• Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

In no event shall our total cumulative liability to you exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Torchinsky Executive Consulting and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of or access to the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any content you submit to the Service.

The Service contains links to third-party websites, including company career pages, LinkedIn profiles, and news sources. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or assume any responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Your use of third-party websites is entirely at your own risk and subject to their own terms and policies.

The Service aggregates job listings from publicly accessible career pages and third-party job boards. Job listings are displayed for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or currency of any job listing. Users are directed to apply through the original source. The Service does not accept applications and is not involved in any hiring process.

If you are a firm representative and wish to update, correct, or prioritize your job listings on the Service, or if you wish to opt out of automated job listing aggregation, please contact us at mike@torchinsky.net. We will honor robots.txt directives and reasonable opt-out requests for job listing scraping within 30 days.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

16.1 Scope. This section applies to personal data of individuals (natural persons) displayed on the Service, such as recruiter names, LinkedIn profile URLs, or founder/executive names associated with firm profiles. This section does not apply to corporate or organizational data.

16.2 Legal Basis. Where the Service displays personal data of individuals who are not users of the Service (for example, recruiters or firm founders), such processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a comprehensive industry reference platform (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where applicable). The personal data displayed is limited to professional information that is publicly available on platforms such as LinkedIn or company websites.

16.3 Right to Erasure. If you are an individual whose personal data appears on the Service and you wish to exercise your right to erasure or object to processing under applicable data protection law (including GDPR Article 17 or Article 21, the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, or equivalent legislation), please contact us at mike@torchinsky.net with sufficient information to identify the data in question. We will respond to valid requests within 30 days.

16.4 Limitations. The right to erasure does not extend to factual corporate information, including but not limited to firm names, office locations, AUM, headcount, or tier classifications. Requests to remove accurate factual information about corporate entities will not be accommodated under data protection law, as such data does not constitute personal data.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance. In the event of permanent discontinuation of the Service, we will provide a pro-rata refund of any unused prepaid subscription fees.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email or prominent notice within the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination: (a) your right to use the Service ceases immediately; (b) you remain bound by provisions that by their nature survive termination, including Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, and 20.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation within 30 days shall be submitted to binding arbitration. Each party shall bear its own costs. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under local consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
